MESSAGE FROM THREE LEGGED DOG PRODUCTIONS:

It is with great regret but with obvious focus on the safety of our community that Three Legged Dog Productions is announcing the cancellation of Mamma Mia! The Musical, at the Sid Williams Theatre March 19-22, 2020. We deeply care about the safety of our patrons, donors and volunteers and respect the recommendation of British Columbia Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, to increase social distancing to ensure we flatten the curve of this outbreak.

The Board of Directors for Three Legged Dog Productions realizes that this could be the demise of our little company but we know this is the right decision. We continue to work through the details of this cancellation as there are many moving parts. We are working with our community partners to determine next steps.

The following options are available to the amazing people who have supported Three Legged Dog Productions by purchasing a ticket to Mamma Mia!:

1. Please consider not asking for a refund on your ticket purchase. This will help Three Legged Dog to cover the considerable costs we have already incurred to present this show and to allow us to continue the great work of creating Live Theatre in the Comox Valley. Your support of the arts is valued by all non-profit agencies in The Comox Valley who do great work in creating a culturally vibrant community.

2. A full refund can be obtained by calling the box office on or after Tuesday March 17, 2020. This is one cancellation for us but many for them and I am sure that you can understand that the Sid Williams Theatre staff are going to be overwhelmed for the next little bit.

I want to extend a heroic thank you to our “Show Ready,” Cast and Crew and supporters so saddened by this cancellation. Thank you to our sponsors Carla Arnold, Real Estate in the Comox Valley, Deluca Veale Investment Counsel , Mindset Wealth and Waypoint insurance. As a supporter of the arts in the Comox Valley we are all deeply concerned as we move through these darker times into the light.

Sincerely,

Pat McKenna
on behalf of The Board of Directors Three Legged Dog Productions

Set on a colorful Greek island, the plot serves as a background for a wealth of ABBA songs. A young woman about to be married discovers that any one of three men could be her father. She invites all three to her wedding without telling her mother, Donna Sheridan, who was once the lead singer of Donna and the Dynamos. In the meantime, Donna has invited her back-up singers, Rosie Mulligan and Tanya Wilkinson to the wedding.

The twenty-year-old bride-to-be Sophie Sheridan finds in her mother's diary that strangers Sam Carmichael, Harry Bright or Bill Austin might be her father. Sophie dreams of having her father walk her down the aisle on her wedding day and she invites the three men to her wedding believing she will immediately recognize her father. She doesn’t, and that’s where the fun, stress and music begins!

Mamma Mia! is a show for all ages.

Sunday March 22 at 7:30 pm is an audience participation event!
