The health and safety of our patrons, performers, employees, and volunteers is of utmost importance to us. We are taking additional precautions to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Following the protocols outlined below does not guarantee a risk-free event; however, we aim to minimize the risk of infection as much as possible by adhering to these best practices.
This page will be updated when required by new public health directives or approved operational requirements.

PROTOCOLS AS OF APRIL 5, 2022. These protocols are subject to change at any time.
Most events will be open to full seating capacity unless the event presenter chooses to have a reduced capacity seating map for their event.
Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets by phone or online. Please ensure that the contact information on your account is accurate and up-to-date - this information will be used for contact tracing in the event of a confirmed exposure during an event.
The box office will be open Tuesday through Friday from 12 pm to 4 pm and two hours prior to the event start time.
Patrons are encouraged to choose e-tickets as the delivery method for at home printing or display on a mobile device. Patrons who choose will call as their ticket delivery method can pick up their tickets during regular box office hours or at the box office prior to the event start time.
A pre-event email will be sent to ticket purchasers on the morning of the event that will include a reminder about applicable protocols and any necessary entry and exit procedures.
In accordance with the latest BC government guidelines on public indoor settings, masks will no longer be required for audience members inside our venue beginning March 11, 2022. Although the mask requirement has been eased, we strongly encourage patrons to continue to wear masks during events, now optional, for the benefit of all in our community.
We recommend the use of masks rated N95 or higher. Masks should fit snugly on the face and not leave any gaps between the mask and skin.
Single-use masks will be available for any patron who needs one.
All event personnel (including staff, volunteers, and crew) will continue to be masked.
The BC Public Health Order requiring proof of vaccination to attend events is in effect until April 8, 2022 at 12:01 am (more info: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof). All patrons will be required to show proof of vaccination using the BC COVID-19 Vaccine Card to attend events at the Sid Williams Theatre. Patrons ages 19 and over must also show a piece of government issued photo ID. Patrons under age 12 can attend events with a fully vaccinated adult. There are NO exceptions to this Public Health Order. For more info on BC's Vaccine Card visit the BC government site.
All event personnel (staff and volunteers) will be vaccinated or additional safety measures put in place.
Those attending events on April 8, 2022 and beyond will not be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Physical distancing is encouraged and everyone entering, exiting, and moving throughout the venue is asked to respect the personal space of others and maintain physical distancing as much as possible.
The venue doors will open 60 minutes prior to the event start time.
Upon arrival at the venue, patrons may need to line up outside. Please maintain some distancing and respect the personal space of others while you wait for your ticket to be scanned.
Sid Williams Theatre staff stationed at each entry door will confirm proof of vaccination prior to entry to the venue (only in effect until April 8, 2022 at 12:01 am).
Patrons are asked to have e-tickets (printed at home or displayed on a mobile device) ready to be scanned upon entry to the building. If picking up will call tickets, patrons will go to the box office and show photo ID to the event services team member to receive their paper ticket.
The water fountain will only have self-serve bottle refill available. The fountain spout will be turned off. Patrons may bring their own resealable beverage containers containing non-alcoholic beverages only. Alcohol is not permitted.
Everyone is asked to respect physical distancing as much as possible when accessing the washrooms.
Patrons seated on the main (orchestra) level are asked to exit through the same door they entered. Patrons seated in the balcony are asked to exit through the exterior balcony stairwell at the north side of the venue.
Patrons are asked to exit the venue starting with the rows at the back of the auditorium. Please remain in your seat at the end of the performance as each row exits. Everyone is asked to proceed directly to their designated exits and not to loiter in the lobby areas.
All surfaces will be sanitized before each event. All seats in the auditorium will be sanitized using an electrostatic cleaning system. Hand sanitizing stations will be available for patrons at entrances, near the elevator, near auditorium entrances and other high trafficked areas.
Patrons may contact the box office for a ticket refund if they are unable to attend, particularly if they are feeling unwell or have been in contact with someone who may have COVID-19. Patrons may also request a refund up to 30 minutes after the event starts.
