A platform area for wheelchairs is located in Orchestra Centre at the rear of the auditorium; it replaces rows 13 & 14. The platform area is available to any patron that (for any reason) is not able to sit in the regular auditorium seats. The patron requiring this seating area is encouraged to have one assistant sit with them. Seating is limited, so please book this area when purchasing your ticket.
Thank you to a generous donation from Tupper Home Health Care (Courtenay) in 2002, a wheelchair is available to assist patrons from the lobby to their seat.
The theatre has two wheelchair accessible washrooms: one on the main level and one on the lower level.
The theatre is equipped with a staff operated elevator for access between the main lobby and lower level. If mobility issues represent a challenge for patrons or performers to access these two levels, a staff member would be happy to assist.
Hearing assistance is provided as a courtesy and is free of charge. To ensure the safe return of this equipment, we do ask for the user's name, phone number, and a piece of identification. We will gladly return this personal item when the equipment is returned.
The system is a FM Transmitter on 107.5 FM. Users may choose a neck loop, single earpiece, or double headphone. The neck loop is to use with a hearing aid(s) that must be in the Telephone (T) or Micro-Telephone (MT) position. The single earpiece and double headphone work as a normal stereo headset. All three systems attach to a small handheld radio. The FM system connects to microphones hanging above the stage. We’ve heard from patrons that the system works magic for most performances, but it is not a solution for everyone.
